nice feature - and I totally agree with you and your attitude towards the scrwe caps – but let me mention that the fact of the “breathing of corks” is not PROOFEN – there are a lot of studies - putting out the conclusion that there are no solid evidences for “breathing corks” …
but by the way – I also like the ritual of opening a bottle … ;-)
I was so shocked when I first started encountering screw caps; I don’t buy expensive wine, generally, so I run into this type of cap here and there, and I have to say I don’t like it, but I understand about the limited availability and cost of real cork. It’s a shame, I think, the trend. But we have to try to go with changes, right?! I do hope it doesn’t become the norm, though.
i agree with you - let’s enjoy the wine with the corks while we can! i’m sure wine flavors will never be the same with screwtops! i hate to see corks go…
