Where on Earth did you find this “Mr Wine Tasting” music?

Ah… I was actually offering wine tastings for a large corporate event last Spring on the French Riviera. Every day, a new group. I would comment upon the same wines everyday, musicians would play the same songs every day. It was like GroundHog Day in Monte Carlo!! Anyway, my favourite part in the musicians set was when the singer was doing a Shaggy impression!! What’s up with the outfit you’re wearing when you do the dancing bit?

This is my ghetto outfit. Straight from Raleigh, North Carolina, baby!! Honestly, I wish I could jack up my street cred with it but my job makes me desperately non ghetto. Depressingly white!!

How did you get started in wine?

Like anybody else I guess… drinking it!! But my family was not really much into food & wine. I think I just got frustrated so started over liking food & wine! So when the time came to choose a career, I decided to go for something fascinating and poetic. Something where I would constantly learn and enjoy. World of wine: here I am!!

What’s your background?

Grew up in Paris. Studied business. Didn’t like it. Decided wine was more fun. Studied wine. Worked as a sommelier in several restaurants. Got a bit bored. Started my own company at age 24. O Chateau (www.o-chateau.com) was born!!:

You have a little American twang – did you spend time in the US?

Yes – sorry! My parents sent me a few times for a couple of weeks in the US in the summer. Partly for me to learn English but primarily I suspect to get rid of me. Then I’ve also worked for 5 months in San Diego, Caifornia

Surprise… I usually don’t even know myself!

How often do you release videos?

As often as possible. Usually a minimum of one a week!

Can I request a class on a specific topic?

Sure – can’t guarantee I will teach about it immediately but will definitely put that on the list if the subject is interesting.

Do you sell wines?

We sell the wines we have our clients taste here in Paris at Ô Chateau. But that’s it. I’m independent, not trying to promote such or such wine.
